Icescape Penguin

Introduction

Icespace penguin is a puzzle game, for Android or iOs.

This game was developed by Vyde Entertainement in early 2018.

The game should be release soon to all platforms. As the game is still unreleased, I can’t yet go to deep into the game.

Pitch

Penguins need your help to escape ! Help them to slide into safe water, out of reach of the hungry bears !

Game concept

Icescape Penguins is a game based on small entities following simple behaviour, they simply turn on contact of a wall AND when they step over a direction tile, that can be placed by the player.

So most of the challenge rely on the ability of the player to think through all of the possibilities and use all tools at his disposal to solve the levels.

My roles

I held the role of game designer and level designer. My main goal was to find new ways to approach the mechanics, to renew the experience as much as possible, mainly through level design.

To do so, I spent a lot of time experimenting with the base mechanics we had in our early prototype.
And I toyed with it a lot, trying to get the feel of it, to then deconstruct it, analyze it and build upon my discoveries.
